Experience and warmth

NextSense offers hearing assessments at three of our centres for children from birth onwards, including those with special needs. Hearing assessments are delivered by experienced audiologists in a child-friendly environment.

Our hearing tests are entirely safe for your child. We know it can be daunting for parents and caregivers, so our specialist NextSense paediatric audiologists will be with you every step. Experienced working with newborns and young people onwards—they’ll ensure a comfortable environment for your child.

— Behavioural observation audiometry
— Visual reinforcement audiometry
— Play audiometry
— Pure tone audiometry (PTA)
— Auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing

— Auditory steady state response (ASSR) testing
— Otoacoustic emission testing
— Tympanometry
— Speech discrimination tests

Our hearing assessments are available in New South Wales and Victoria, at the following NextSense locations:

— Macquarie Park (NSW)

Referral

You will need a referral from your GP to access the service in NSW. Our friendly team will discuss the details with you when you make an appointment.
Note: referrals are not required in Victoria.

Costs

Some services are bulk-billed and covered by Medicare for eligible Australian residents, others have a fee attached. Our team can advise of any out-of-pocket costs when you make your appointment.

Eligibility

This assessment service is designed specifically for children; however, eligible adults can have their hearing tested as part of their cochlear implant assessment.
